Spring Newsletter

I just received my spring newsletter and I know that everyone else has been getting theirs too, so I wanted to welcome any alumnae that just found out about the new blog!

We're trying to post more information more often, so if you have something you'd like to hear about or something you'd like to talk about, let us know!

2009 LEAP Incentive Scholarship

The 2009 LEAP incentive has been awarded to 8 chapters this year. Most chapters will be using their awards to send representatives to 2009 National Convention in Pittsburgh, PA.

Several chapters are reporting that sister involvement and motivation are one of their biggest struggles for their leadership and we hope to be able to offer some creative solutions to this at Convention 2009.

See you all there!

Kristen Waters

25 Years in Pictures

Over the last month or so, we've been collecting pictures from all chapters to include in various books, photo albums, and the museum at Convention 2009. If you have any great Phi Rho pictures and can scan them in, please send them to vpofprogramming@phisigmarho.org!

Alumnae, We Challenge You...

... to visit the Convention 2009 Alumnae Challenge website and find out how you can accept the Alumnae Challenge!

In order to celebrate our 25th anniversary with the flair it deserves, Phi Sigma Rho is going to need your help! The Convention 2009 Committee and National Council are challenging you to sponsor some special items for our celebration. By sponsoring an item, you can work with the committee to help design and order it. Sponsor at item by yourself or join with your fellow alumnae to sponsor as a group. And then, don't forget to join us in Pittsburgh this July to see how your support has paid off.

Check out the list of available items for sponsorship and what has already been sponsored on the
Alumnae Challenge website. Questions? Want to commit to sponsor? Email the Alumnae Challenge Committee Chairs (Allison Lenhoff, VP of Finance, and Monique Chinchar, VP of Alumnae Affairs). Don't delay! Committments are due by February 1st.

Be a part of this wonderful milestone in Phi Sigma Rho history as we are "Celebrating Silver, Going for Gold!"

Recognizing our Sisters

For the last few months, Phi Rhos have been making nominations for the Pyramid Builders Awards to be given out at Convention 2009 in recognition of those sisters who have made significant contributions to Phi Sigma Rho. To date the committee has received 50 different nominations, including duplicates, which means we had a ton of people nominate their sisters! We were so excited to hear this and cannot wait to see who is awarded this July!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to nominate someone special.

It's not too late though, you still have a few days until the extended deadline of January 15th to make a nomination! It does not take much, just a few words online here: http://www.phisigmarho.org/pyramidbuilder.asp
